International Adoptions! LCFS works with established international adoption agencies to help adoptive families locate infants available for adoption.  Through such partnerships, LCFS facilitates international connections across the world. These adoptions are costly and require knowledge, patience, and understanding.  With guidance and support, adoptive parents provide permanency for children living in understaffed orphanages and foster homes.  These children will be embraced by loving families, supported by their Christian Community.. Each country has different requirements so the following is an example of what may be required. An adoption home study must be completed by a licensed agency. This includes a thorough background investigation. You will work with an international agency and will be required to complete paperwork in order to prepare a dossier for the country in which the child will be located. Education on adoption of at least 20 hours. In most cases you will be required to travel to the country where the child is located.  The travel time varies depending on country. While traveling you will adopt the child in the child’s native country. LCFS will provide post placement home visits and help with the re-adoption in Wisconsin.
